JR. ALLIN Gaylord P. Allin Jr., 75 of Lucas, Ohio died peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. A private family service in New Hampshire is pending. Gaylord was born May 12, 1941 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He was the son of Gaylord P. Allin Sr. and Lillian (Hatfield) Allin Reeves who preceded him in death. He graduated High School in 1960 from BHS in Bastrop, Louisiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Garrett, and has three children: Gaylord Allin III of Monroe, LA, Regina (Chris) Bales of Lucas, OH, and Lynne (Roy) Kitchen of Sherwood, AR. Later he was remarried to Victoria Croswell and has another son, Jessie Allin of West Monroe, LA. He was a veteran of Vietnam in the U.S Air Force TAC and the Air National Guard. After his service in the Air Force and Guard he was employed by Georgia Pacific in Crossett, Arkansas and later moved to Louisville, Kentucky to work for Sinclair & Valentine and Jellico Chemical Co. in the printing ink business. He was later employed by PPG and J.M. Fry in Monroe, Louisiana. He was Vice President of Technology and Development for Progressive Coatings in Shreveport, LA. before starting his own business, GPA Consulting. Gaylord was an inventor and chemist and held five patents. While living in Louisiana Gaylord was a devoted member and trustee of Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe. He was instrumental in getting the 24/7 Prayer Ministry started as well as the Hispanic Mission. He was a leader in men's ministries at the church as well. He loved Christmas time and participated annually in CCBC's Journey to Bethlehem. He worked with the Gideons, Prison Ministries and also Truck Stop Ministries. He also enjoyed working for the Volunteers In Police Service program in Monroe. Gaylord spent a large portion of time on the Interstate traveling to and from work and never failed to stop and help people who were in need or distress. God put them in his path so he could share his gifts that allowed him to repair their cars, offer rides, buy groceries for their children and share his love of all humanity with the world that came into contact with him. After his retirement Gaylord moved to Ohio where he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. They went "junkin", traveling, and taking long walks on the bike path which added a new level of awareness of what really matters in this life to each of them. It was an honor to call him Dad. In addition to his children Gaylord is survived by three grandchildren: Tiffany Kimble, Austen Gardner, Kylee Beth Allin and a great grandchild, Halley Cole.
