Interment will follow in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA Mr. Joe was born May 14, 1938 in Roseland, LA and passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 in Monroe, LA. Joe Amacker holds more patents on Tree Stands than any other manufacturer (23 in all). Since 1965 Amacker has lead the way to a million dollar industry. His compassion for his country, hunting, and helping people, evolved in almost impossible dream to others. This lead to the invention of the first sit down/stand up climber, to the Deer Thief, to the Adjuster Series. No other tree stand company can come close to offering you the versatility, safety and comfort that you will find in an Amacker Tree Stand. He is a living legend of tree stands. Mr. Joe was in the US Army for 2 years and in the US Navy for 4 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Mr. Joe is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Joseph Amacker; parents, Norman and Gladys Amacker; sister, Etta Byrd; and grandmother, Etta "Old Mama" Amacker. Survivors include wife of 36 years, Fredia Amacker; children, Tracy Evans and husband, Chuck, Brandy Benton, and Sammie Jo Amacker; grandchildren, Aimee Mitchell, Joannie Evans, and Jace Benton; great grandchildren, Corbin and Ethan Mitchell; siblings, Barbara Del Johnson and Trish Goins; special nephew, Donald Servin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of the Tommie Cook Post 122 American Legion and the VFW of Rayville. Visitation is 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
