Job Edathinatt officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Doris passed away on January 22, 2017. She was born on September 18, 1921 in New Orle New Orleans, LA. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and devout Catholic. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Anthony P. "Tony" Amato and he and her beloved 8 year old grandson, Luke Amato. Survivors include her son, Gerard A. Amato (Elena) and their daughter, Anas Anastasia; her loving "daughter/angel", Connie Bernhardt Bryant, her husband, Ronn Ronnie Bryant and their family. These "special angels" saved Doris and Tony from from Hurricane Katrina and continued to love and support them after their relo relocated to Monroe, where they lived out their final years. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time, Friday, at the cemetery. A special thank you to all the caregivers, friends and clergy at Christus St. Jose Joseph's Assisted Living and to the Doctors and Nurses at Specialty Hospital in Monr Monroe.
