Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, LA with Father Keith Garvin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery. Charles passed away at his residence on Friday, June 17, 2016. Charles was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was passionate about gardening and loved watching the birds. Charles was a renaissance man. In his lifetime he designed and built houses, painted oil paintings, made stained glass windows, collected and restored clocks and he loved to invent things. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a petty officer on the Hoggart Bay. Charles also graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in business. Charles was preceded in death by his adored wife of 61 years Jeannine Oakley Amman. He is survived by his daughters Annice Amman Miller (David), Katherine Amman Vellard; granddaughters, Ginny Miller Hogue (Austin), Katherine Dent Korrodi (James); grandson, William David Miller, Jr.; and great grandson James Gray Korrodi II. Pallbearers will be Walter Dunn, William David Miller, Jr., Austin Hogue, Dr. Kerry Anders, Frederic Amman and Joseph Bryson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Corbin Amman and Thierry Vellard. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M., Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
