Officiating will be Reverend Toby Frost. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Rosemary Burns Upshaw Anderson died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and friends. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and was an inspiration to everyone she met. Rosemary was born on March 25, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana, and died on Saturday, August 29, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Mark Kent Anderson, and her two children, Ainsley Scott Anderson and Mark Kent Anderson, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Martha Burns Upshaw Anderson, two sisters, Ainsley Upshaw Lewis and Allison Roane Upshaw, stepfather, Patrick H. Anderson, brother-in-law, Jason A. Lewis, nephews, John Graydon Lewis and Adam Upshaw Lewis, father-in-law, Kent Anderson, mother-in-law, Yvonne Lusk Anderson, brother-in-law, Scott Lusk Anderson, and nieces, Michelle Yvonne Anderson and Claudia Elyse Anderson. Other surviving relatives are her aunt and uncle, Rosemary Upshaw Ewing and Randy Lew Ewing of Quitman, Louisiana, and aunt Martha Carolyn Upshaw Stinson of West Monroe, Louisiana. Rosemary is preceded in death by her father, Elton Jefferson Upshaw, Jr, and her two brothers, Elton Jefferson Upshaw, III and Judson Maxwell Upshaw; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Burns, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Jefferson Upshaw, Sr. Rosemary loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a devoted mother, cherished daughter, generous sister, loving niece, steadfast wife and unforgettable friend. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, and attended First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Her favorite opportunities to serve included mother sponsor of Lambda Sigma Chi Sorority, chairperson for Neville High School's 75th Anniversary Gala, and participation with her husband, Mark, in the Young President's Organization, "YPO". More than anything, Rosemary loved being involved in her children's lives and giving to others. Pallbearers will be Jay Babb, Greg Cordaro, Edwin Craft, Richard Crowe, Bob Lane, Eugene Montgomery, James Moore, Trey Nelson, and Randy Smith. Family and friends send special thanks to the outstanding caregivers; Shannon Newton, Lynn Davis, Carol Crooms, Melissa Aron Gillum, Dr. Gary Burton, Dr. Greg Boyce, Dr. Scott Barron, Dr. John Ledbetter, Dr. Barry Weinberger, and Dr. Sanford Katz. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 9:30 A.M. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Neville High School Alumni and Friends Association, Neville High School Live Oak Preservation Fund, The Bill Ruple-Charlie Brown Scholarship Fund, or First Baptist Church in West Monroe.
