ROBERT DUNCAN ANDREWS January 29, 2004 Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Capt Robert Duncan Andrews will be 1:00 PM, Friday, Janurary 30, 2004 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. John Leach officiating. Interment will be in the Twin City Memorial Gardens. Capt Robert Duncan Andrews was born on 07 August 1970 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Robb graduated from high school in Livermore, California. His military career began in 1988 when he enlisted as an airborne linguist in the United States Air Force. A notable achievement during his enlisted career includes being selected as One of Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year, 1995. After serving nine years as an airman, he was selected for Officer Training School. After being commissioned on 08 August 1997, he completed Intelligence Officer Training and served at Fort Bragg, NC and Offutt AFB, NE. He arrived at McGuire AFB in September 2002 and augmented the 305 OSS Intelligence Flight as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA). During his career, he served in several operations to include: OPERATION DESERT STORM, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. Capt Robert Andrews was deployed in Moron, Spain as the Chief of Intelligence, 781st EAS and was on a 180 day tour at the time of his death. Capt Andrews was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident while returning to base the evening of 20 January 2004. He had been in Moron since mid-October, earning the respect and praise from the 496 AEG and 781 EAS for his intelligence knowledge, hard work and dedication, and being a leader through a difficult transition of people and equipment. Capt Robert Andrews is survived by his parents John and Gerry Andrews of Livermore, CA; two sisters, Stephanie and Sarah and her son, Aidan; one brother, Joshua; aunts and uncles include Wayne Andrews; Donna Leach, Keri Hooper, Barbara Norris and Judy Holcomb; grandmother, Jo Andrews and many wonderful cousins. Robert�s friends and family were extremely important to him. We miss him but celebrate his new life. The family will receive friends, 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
