ANTLEY Services for Mrs. Vickie A. "Nanny" Antley, age 72, of Downsville will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday. Officiating will be Bro. Jerry Chapman, Bro. Tuck Roberts and Bro. Robbie Robinson. Burial will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Vickie was born on July 12, 1941 and resided in Downsville until she left peacefully to be with the Lord on August 1, 2013 due to a lengthy battle with cancer. Vickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church of Downsville. As a retired school teacher, Vickie was well-known and respected throughout her career. She was a caring and reliable member of her community and dearly loved by all who knew her. Vickie loved spending time participating in church activities, taking trips with her sisters, and cooking dinner every Sunday for her family. Vickie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Antley of Downsville and four children: Terry Antley, Randy Antley, Sherri Banks, and Kristi & Brandon Wade; nine grandchildren: Casey Antley, Brandy Roton, Ashley Cannon, Brooke Antley, Jarrett Banks, Lesly Banks, Dylan Antley, Gavin Wade, and Austin Banks; six great-grandchildren: Blake Roton, Faith Antley, Gracie Roton, Reese Antley, Carrie Cannon, and Cooper Barkley. She is also survived by her siblings including Mike and Marsha Allen, Chloe Owens, LaRue and Edward Barton, Renee Allen, Howard and Sheree Allen, Ann and Kent Halley, and Lynette and Bubba Wade. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, special friends, and her adoring pet, Rascal. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, J.V. and Nell Allen, and her brother, Jimmie Max Allen. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Casey Antley, Jarrett Banks, Dylan Antley, Gavin Wade, and Austin Banks; and grandsons-in-law: Robbie Roton, Josh Cannon, and Jonathan Barkley. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Scott Barron and Dr. Floyd Jones for the dedication and care they showed our loved one. Mrs. Vickie A.
