He was the eldest of eight children born to Ford and Ava Smith Antley. Mr. Antley graduated from Downsville High School, where he played varsity basketball and baseball. As part of the "Greatest Generation," he proudly served his country in WWII as a US Navy pilot in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the State of Louisiana after having worked for the Dept. of Health and the Dept. of Corrections. A country boy at heart, he enjoyed quail hunting with his bird dogs, his vegetable garden, telling stories of growing up in rural North LA, and sports -- anything LSU, Saints, or Texas Rangers. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings- brothers, Aubrey Antley and wife Elma, Smith Antley and wife Erma Jean, and Huey Antley; and sisters, Betty Tucker and husband Bobby, Grace Pixley, and Jean Davis. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Lucille Paige Antley; daughter, Vickie Lynn Antley Hall and husband Brian of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Lisa Ann Antley Roy and fiancé Roger Moore of Central, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer Claire Hall Rhodes and husband Patrick of Shreveport, LA, Joel Mitchell Hall and wife Haley of Shreveport, LA, and Leyton Jarett Roy of Central, LA. His brother Billy L. Antley and wife Ivee of Point, LA, also survive him, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and spouses of his siblings: Gary Davis, Bobbie Antley, and Paul Pixley. Mr. Antley's first great-grandchild, Dixie Claire Rhodes (due date late March, 2016) had not arrived before his passing. A memorial visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 12 PM until 2 PM. Visitation will resume at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1321 N. 7th St., West Monroe, LA, on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 5 PM until 7 PM. Funeral service will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Acree Cemetery in Point, LA.
