Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment will be held in the Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Arnold died on Sunday December 16, 2012. Hartley was born in St. Petersburg, FL, on September 1, 1930, as the only child of Hartley R. and Bonzie Arnold. He attended Carlisle Military Academy as a young man, and following graduation joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He then went on to attend Georgia Tech University, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. Hartley worked as a Power Plant Superintendent at the West Monroe Paper Mill for almost 40 years, where he and his family would live most of their adult lives. Hartley is remembered as an accomplished cook and master woodworker, who loved the outdoors and had a propensity for practical jokes. Hartley was preceded in death by his son, Hartley "Russell" Arnold, II and his wife, Carolee Arnold. Hartley is survived by his wife of five years, Patricia Arnold of Webster TX; two daughters, Renee Walker and her husband, Ray of West Monroe, LA and Tanya Lindsey and her husband, John of Houston, TX; two stepdaughters, Roslynn Pogue and her husband, Allan of West Monroe, LA and Ashley Perkins and her husband, Richard of Franklin, TN; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Russ Hobbs, Ray Walker, Cole Walker, Chad Sanders, Clint Sanders, Ray Butler and John Lindsey. Honorary Pallbearers will be his former colleagues from Riverwood International. The family will receive friends for visitation at Mulhearn Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening, December 19th. Memorials in Hartley's name may be made to either the Shriners Burn Hospitals, at the following address: 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL. 33607.
