AUSTIN Brown-Holley Funeral Home Rayville, LA Funeral services for James P. Austin, 89, will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Mangham Baptist Church, Mangham, with Rev. Rick Aultman officiating. Internment will follow in Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA. Mr. Austin was born on August 29, 1919 in Mangham, LA and passed away Thursday, December 18, in Monroe, LA. James was a member of Mangham Baptist Church. He also was a pilot in World War II for the U.S. Army Air Force and a graduate of Northeast Louisiana College. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Helen Louise Austin; parents, Oscar and Maggie Austin; and brothers, Oscar Austin and Fred Austin. He is survived by his children, Sandra Brundage and husband, Harrison of Houston, TX, Larry Austin and wife, Kay of Monroe; grandchildren, Ryan Austin and wife Carla of West Monroe, Jessica Austin of Monroe, Cheryl Brundage of Houston, TX, Darryl Brundage of Houston, TX; great grandson, Bram Sebio- Brundage of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Frank Hendrix, Darryl Brundage, Ryan Austin, Paul Gandy, Doyle Robinson, and Clinton Smart. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Bruce and Jim Bruce. Visitation will begin Sunday from 2:00 PM until service time at Mangham Baptist Church.
