West Monroe, LA

Funeral services for Ms. Becky Ellen Avant, 44, of West Monroe, LA will be held 
at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in West Monroe 
with Rev. Danny Hawthorne officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick 
Serenity Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West 
Monroe.

Becky was born on December 11, 1964 in West Monroe, LA.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Huey Avant and her nephew, 
Mathew Avant.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Scallon and husband Scott; three 
beautiful granddaughters, Caroline, Madison, and Alyssa; her mother, Pauline 
Avant; brothers, Charles Avant, and Bill Avant and wife Vicky; sisters, Lisa 
Allen and husband Junior, Margie Strother and husband Terry, and Polly Vail and 
husband Don; sixteen nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and 
a very special friend, J.C. Neathery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Avant, Shane Kirby, Wendell Avant, John Cole, Chad 
Vail and David Duke.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Louisiana or St. Jude Children's 
Research Hospital.
