Dwight Munn and Rev. Michael Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Kilpatrick's Serenity Garden Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Amy was born April 30, 1971 and passed away November 12, 2014. She graduated from West Monroe High School in 1989, received her B.S. Degree in nursing from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL, where she recieved a softball scholarship. She later received her Master's Degree in nursing from Northwestern University, where she specialized in Neo-Natal Pediatrics. As a registered nurse and later as Nurse Practitioner she helped hundreds of infants and their families to overcome their illnesses at St. Francis, Christus Schumpert and at Northeast LA Medical Centers. Amy was a member of several medical organizations including NCC. She was an outstanding mother and all of her family was avid softball participants. She is preceded in death by her step sister, Ann Green. Survivors include her four children, Garrett Chandler Williams, Meredith McKenzie Williams, Haden Grant Williams and Austin Blake Hill; her mother, Mackie Lynn Avant; her father and step mother, Bill and Carol Joyce Avant; sister, Jennifer Nicole Eubanks and husband, Korry; brother, Nick Avant; nieces, Meagan Lively and Kennedy Lively; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her special companion, Brian Carter, who helped her through her illness. Pallbearers will be David Avant, Brian Alexander, Jack Eubanks, Nick Avant, Wayne Petrus and Chris Adams. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Worship Center at First Baptist Church in West Monroe. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to a special account at First National Bank in West Monroe for her children or Pilots for Patients.
