The family is so grateful to the special angels who made her life better after her health began to fail: Mary Kelly, Paula Desidere, Gayla Antley and Landon Antley took such special care of her. Her life was one of service to her church, her family and her community. She was a member of Zion Rest Primitive Baptist Church for 74 years, serving as Church Clerk for 53 years and honorary clerk after her health prevented her from serving. She was always ready and willing to help with school activities ( sports events, club events, whatever came up) with her children and grandchildren. She was a member and past president of the local Home Demonstation Club, as well. Some of the greatest joys of her life were making their home a very special place for the children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews and all their friends. And though the cares of life came her way, she could always see the bright side. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Darrell Avery, David Avery, Tim Gault, Glenn Blackmon, Bryan Blackmon, Douglas Blackmon, Shawn Fitzpatrick and Jerry Shows. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Zion Rest Church and the great- grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home, Jonesboro.
