He was 64. Billy, a resident of Lafayette, grew up in Monroe, LA, and graduated from Neville High School with the proud class of 1970. Billy attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe and Louisiana State University. He was a diehard and fervent Tiger's fan. He truly loved his career in the petrochemical industry which spanned forty years. His employers included WKM Valve Company, Parker Industries, FIP Inc. and Drake Oilfield Supply. Billy was a supreme horseman, draftsman, and oil drilling tool inventor, but most of all a true friend to all who knew him. His great appreciation of music brought him to the dancehalls of South Louisiana, the Jazz Festival and many other venues. Billy went to great lengths throughout his lifetime to support a friend in need or to lend a hand to his Krewe. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Zelma Williams Aycock. We will miss his great smile and gentle demeanor. We could always count on Billy to do the right thing. He never harmed a soul and sure helped a lot of people. The world could use more people like Billy Aycock. As his final gesture of generosity, Billy donated his body to LSU Medical School of Science and his assets to St. Jude's Children Hospital. We miss and salute our dear friend. A private memorial service and celebration will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
