Burial will follow at Weldon Church Cemetery in Bernice, LA. Bro. Wayne Whiteside and Bro. Harvey Hoffman will be officiating. Mrs. Christene crossed the finish line to her eternal home on Saturday, May 10. She finished strong for Christ after 90 years of service. She was born in 1923, May 20 and passed from this life 9 days short of her 91st birthday. Mrs. Bailey, with her husband Wilbur Bailey, traveled the U. S. and Canada helping with church planting and building projects. She and Mr. Bailey helped start Crestview Baptist in Farmerville. Christene and Wilbur were faithful members of Crestview as long as they were physically able. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Wilbur; sister, Pauline Coltharp; brother, C.C. Gray; and parents, J.W. and Captola Gray. Those left to cherish her memory are: sons, Barry Bailey and wife Gay of West Monroe, LA; Dr. Don Bailey and wife Kim of Hot Springs Village, AR; daughters, Peggy Frasier and husband Danny of Farmerville, LA; Tina Roush and husband Johnny of Farmerville, LA. Mrs. Bailey has 12 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mitch Bailey, Marty Bailey, Steven Frasier, Jason Hyatt, and Donovan Bailey. The family would like to thank those who cared for Mrs. Bailey: all those at Arbor Lake plus St Joseph Hospice. We especially thank her nurse Nita Gandy and the hospice sitters. A special thanks to her personal caregivers, Denise Jones, and Mary Ann Goodjoint. The family will receive guests from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, evening at Crestview Baptist Church. The family request that memorials be sent to Crestview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 242 Farmerville, LA., to be included in the Georiga Barnette Mission offering or Louisiana Baptist children's Home.
