Rev. Greg Tipton and Rev. Doug White will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Barmore was born November 12, 1932 in Lincoln Parish to Clifton and Eathel Barmore. He died at his home in Dubach April 8, 2015. Mr. Barmore served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Gas Switcher for Arkla Gas for many years. The example he set as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend was beyond any words that can be described. Don was an avid houndsman and always had words of encouragement for others to enjoy life. Mr. Barmore is survived by his wife of 60 years: Mary Nell Cooper Barmore; his children: Jan Smith and husband Cecil of Dubach, Donna (Tookey) Albritton and husband Trey of Monroe, Ricky Barmore and wife Laura of Dubach, and Gelanie Barmore of Dubach; 7 grandchildren, Patti McFadden and husband Hunter, Michael Durham and wife Mary, Rebekka Heard, Wes Barmore and wife Jennifer, Lindsey Barham and husband Nicky, Jerad Barmore and wife Nikki, and Danielle Heard; 17 great grandchildren; brother: William "Bud" Clifton Barmore of Dubach; his sisters: Floye Fordham of West Monroe, and Bonnie Mae Lewis of Shreveport: as well as his nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter: Faith Malynn Dotson. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Michael Durham, Wes Barmore, Jerad Barmore, Nicky Barham, Hunter McFadden, Landry Duke, and a very special friend and co- worker Jim McCallum. Honorary Pallbearers will be his past co-workers from Arkla Gas. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wheelin' in the Hills, 912 Mays Crossing Road, Dubach, LA 71235, an organization that helps those with disabilities enjoy hunting. The family would like to express their thanks to all of Mr. Barmore's caregivers who have helped so much in this difficult time.
