MARY LOUISE WHEELER BARNES

Visitation for Mary Louise Wheeler Barnes, 91, of Lafayette, LA, formerly of 
Monroe, will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at 
Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Mr. Don DeLukie officiating. 
Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction 
of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Barnes was born in Fulton, MS on November 17, 1920 and passed away 
Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette, LA. She was a life-
long faithful member of the Church of Christ, locally Jackson Street Church of 
Christ. Mrs. Barnes was one of eleven children, and loved her family dearly. 
She was the kindest, most caring person you would ever meet.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Howard 
D. Barnes; and grandson, James Johnston.

Survivors include her son, Lester Barnes and wife Lorrie of West Monroe; 
daughter, Mitzie Barnes Finley and husband Robin of Lafayette, LA; 
granddaughters, Tina Clark and Melinda Clark both of Houston, TX; grandsons, 
Kevin Barnes of Houston, TX, D. J. Johnston and wife Sylvia of Albuquerque, 
NM; granddaughter, Cheri C. Blair of New Orleans, LA; grandson, Adam D. Blair 
and wife Stephanie of Aliso Viejo, CA; granddaughters, Debra Barrett of 
Birmingham, AL and Tamara Finley of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Michael Finley of 
Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Jackie Brumley, Betty Jeffcoat, Carolyn Smith, and 
Molly Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
