Friday, November 28, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Spearsville, LA. Officiating will be Rev. James Miller assisted by Chaplin Steve Hughes. Visitation will be from 12 noon till time of service time at the church. Interment will follow in Spearsville Cemetery. Mrs. Maurene Breazeal Barron went to her heavenly home on November 24, 2014. She was born to Tyre Boone and Edna Breazeal in a logging camp just north of Farmerville, Louisiana on December 19, 1912. Mrs. Barron graduated from Spearsville High school in 1929. She attended Louisiana State Normal College. She began her teaching career before graduation and taught at Junction City in 1936, at Tugewell City in 1937, and transferred to Linville in 1938. She married William H. Barron on December 29, 1939 and moved with her husband to Oak Grove where he commuted to Monticello, Louisiana, to teach agriculture at the local high school. After Willie accepted a job with the United States Department of Agriculture's Security Administration, she and Willie lived at Natchitoches and then Ruston before moving back to Spearsville. She resumed her teaching career in 1950 at Junction City before transferring to Spearsville. During this time she attended Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1952. She was a teacher in the Union Parish school system for over 25 years before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Spearsville Baptist Church since her early childhood. Preceding her in joining their heavenly father are her parents, Tyre Boone and Edna Nicklas Breazeal; her husband, William Henry Barron; her brother, Lavelle, and her sister, Larue. She is survived by her son Gene Barron, and his wife Linda, daughters Joye Iles, and her husband Wayne, and Susan Smith and her husband James. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Pam, Mike, Jon, Brad, April, Crystal and Angela; and 17 great -grandchildren: Lawson, Lauren, Daniel, Julia, Olivia, Henry, Audrey, Allie, Sara, Liam, Maddox, Kelsey, Karli, Skye, Kaleb, Prestin, and Paisley. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers- Ms. Marlene Crosby, Mrs. Gracye Dixon, Ms. Jeanette Farrar, and Mrs. Natosha Waters, as well as the capable staff of Professional Hospice Care.
