A private celebration of his life was observed by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Jordon Harmon Barton; mother, Corinne Aileene Derryberry Barton of Monroe, LA; sister Linda Lucille Barton Bergeron of New Orleans, LA; and daughter, Laurie Ann Barton Keith of White Stone, VA. He is survived by his children, Derri Barton Smith and husband Steve of Germantown, TN; Debbie Barton Reinach and husband Richard of Memphis, TN; Linda Barton Thurman and husband Dennis of Horn Lake, MS; Bric Jordon Barton of Hernando, MS; and John Bradford Barton of Ocean Springs, MS, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ted attended Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, served in the U.S. Air Force and was also a very talented musician. He spent many successful years in development of business and marketing sales of industrial and commercial application products for W.R. Grace Company and Associated Waterproofing Company of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA. He oversaw these applications and/or exterior paneling for many major projects among them the Louisiana Superdome and industrial plants and storage silo facilities in the Port of Baton Rouge as well as the Broadwater Beach Marina in its heyday in Biloxi, MS. Ted also served as a "First Rescue Responder" in the wake of the devastating hurricanes Audrey, Betsy and Camille. For the past thirty-two (32) years, he was a friend of Bill W and was active in this recovery program throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast, New Orleans, Jackson and Hernando, MS and Memphis, TN. Those that knew him saw him with a larger-than-life presence in showing great fellowship, strength and hope that helped countless others.
