Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Marion Lord Barton, 95, of Monroe, LA will be 
held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral 
Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. J.L. Keyes officiating. Interment 
will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery at Crowville, LA.

Mrs. Barton passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009. She was a faithful pastor's 
wife and at one time was the Director for Meals On Wheels for Sterlington. She 
taught Sunday School lessons throughout the Southern states and was a loving 
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel E. Barton, of seventy years, 
who was the former mayor of Sterlington, LA for many years; her parents; two 
brothers and one sister; one great grandchild.

Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Russell of Sterlington, LA and Martha 
Smith and husband Jimmy of Brandon, MS; four grandchildren, Sunnye St. Romain, 
Michael Smith, Jason Smith, and Shannon Hoover; six great grand-children; 
three step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
