Al was born in Strong, Arkansas on February 5, 1932 - one of 8 children born to Lonnie Bass and Addie (Morgan) Bass. Al married Dixie Garner in 1958. Al served our country as Corporal in the United States Marines. An engineer during the Korean War, he received several medals of honor including the Korean Presidential Unit Citation Medal. He served in the Hq 2nd Shore Bn, 2nd Marine Div, FMF providing ground amphibious forcible entry for naval forces. Al was a Member of the Order of the Eagles and the German-American Club. Al is predeceased by his parents and 2 grandchildren- Kyle and Vinnie. He is survived by his wife Dixie, of the home. Also remaining are 3 children, Keith Bass of Reno, Nevada; Lisa Kincaid (Mike) of Alexander, and Laura Henderson of North Little Rock; 4 precious grandchildren, Christopher Henderson, Dustin Henderson, Morgan Johnson and Shaye Williams. He is also survived by his brother David, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A family celebration will be at the Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, Monday Jan 25, 2016 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery, Monroe, Louisiana. Arrangements are in the care of Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, Little Rock, AR.
