BATES Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Mary K. Bates, 79, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Ricky Willis and Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bates passed away Friday, January 30, 2009. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church of West Monroe, Ed Stinson Sunday school class, and Vera Jordan Circle of United Methodist Women. She was a caring person to family and friends and loved volunteering her services to her church. She was a retired insurance adjustor with State Farm Insurance, and a member of The P.E.O. Sisterhood. Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Bates; son, Russell Bates; and parents, Cad and Vesta M. Kimball. Survivors include her son, David Bates and wife Andrea; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Freeman; grandchildren, Julie Bates Notari, Jessica Bates, Christopher Wooley, Stephen Bates, and Ryan Bates; four great grandchildren; sisters, Betty K. Hill, and Mae Miller and husband Jim; brothers, Roger Kimball and wife Betty, R. W. Kimball and wife Jen, Jasper Kimball and wife Marie, and Wayne Kimball and wife Peggy; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Lois Wynn. Pallbearers will be Leo Lyles, Ray Arthur, Mike Freeman, Keith Kimball, Jim McKay, and Rocky Ricks. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ed Stinson Sunday school class. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
