Brian Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Leslie was born July 23, 1984 in Minden, Louisiana, and passed away November 10, 2016 of a lengthy illness. She was a 2002 graduate of Claiborne Academy, where she earned the distinction of valedictorian. She earned degrees from Louisiana Tech University, cum laude, and Northwestern State University. Prior to her illness, she worked at Green Clinic in Ruston. Leslie had a kind and gentle spirit; she had a generous heart, and loved with a passion like no other. She is now at peace and rest in Heaven with her Mamaw and Papaw Bays and her loving Lord and Savior. Leslie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Glen and Margaret Bays and maternal grandfather Richard Nixon. Left to cherish her memory include her fiancé Jonathon Lowery and their fur baby, Lola; father and step-mother David and Amy Bays and little brother Layton Bays; mother and step-father Janet and Roger Holland and sister Amber Staggs; nephews and niece Cason, Reyd, and Oaklynn; maternal grandmother Joann Nixon; aunts and uncles Glenda and Charlie McKenzie, Denny and Michele Bays, Valerie and Steven Meadows, Tom Wynn, and Lane and Rachel Wynn; first cousins Cole Meadows, Shelby and Cameron Sandefur, Jordan Wynn, and Christopher and Laney Winn, special cousins that were like her sister and brothers Kristie Bays Beeson, Dustin Bays, and Jerry Coleman, Jr.; future in-laws Ray and Kathryn Lowery and Roger and Angie Lowery, and lifelong friends Dawn White Hankins and Allison Westbrook Gaston. Pallbearers will be Denny Bays, Dustin Bays, Jerry Coleman, Jr., Hunter Coleman, Daniel Beeson, Charlie McKenzie, Tom Wynn and Cole Meadows. The Bays family wishes to thank the community and their FBC church family for the wonderful love, support and prayers the last nine months. Also, thank you to the staff at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe and Kay's Pharmacy in Monroe.
