Mrs. Beal was born to the union of Mr. Jesse C. Williams and Mrs. Eliza Williams on September 14, 1933 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church for 75 years where she was very active in Sunday School, Mission, VBS, and numerous other auxiliaries. Mrs. Beal was a 1951 graduate of Monroe Colored High School. She then graduated from Grambling College in 1955 with a Bachelors in Education. She married Mr. Alex James Beal (deceased) of West Monroe in Nov. 1955 and was blessed with two children, Roderick C. Beal (deceased) and Renita Maria Beal Handy. She was a dedicated 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School for thirty-one (31) years. She retired in May 1987 and had the opportunity to enjoy 27 years of retirement. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Beal loved to create flower arrangements, needlepoint and design hats with her special touch. She shared her many gifts, especially helping others, cooking and giving to numerous charities. Her sweet and gentle demeanor will always be remembered. Left to cherish her precious memory is her devoted daughter, Renita Beal Handy, and dearest Granddaughter, Adia Handy. Also her adoring siblings Mrs. Clevonease Johnson, Mrs. Vergie Scott (James), Mr. Alfred E. Williams, Mrs. Wanda Faye Lambert (Wiggins), Mr. Carl E. Williams (Marie), Ms. Annie Booker, SFC Frederick D. Williams, Retired - Purple Heart Recipient, Mrs. Debra Alexander Reed (Carl) and Mr. Michael Alexander; Ms. Bert Menyweather, Mr. James Aubrey, Jr. (Beverly), Mr. Floyd Edward, Mr. Joe Ben Aubrey (Mary), and Mrs. Mattie A. Morehead (Wurostek). In addition remembering Mrs. Beal is a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other family members, close friends, True Vine Sunday School Adult Class #3, former colleagues, and neighbors. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Specialty Hospital at St. Francis Hospital, Dr. Sam and Dr. El-Malah for their special care and kindness. Funeral services: 11:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church (Monroe). Visitation today 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a family hour 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Millers Funeral Home.
