Mulhearn Funeral Home

West Monroe, LA

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Jackson Beard, 84, of West Monroe will be 
held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. 
Rick McPhearson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Church 
Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mrs. Beard was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was active in 
her Sunday School Class. She retired from Woodlawn Elementary School Cafeteria 
after many years of service. She enjoyed working with ceramics, crocheting, and 
especially yard work and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, E. V. "Buddy" Beard Jr.; children, Gordon E. 
Beard and wife Elizabeth and Vicky B. Thomas; grandchildren, Yancey S. Thomas, 
USN, Brandon E. Beard, Jessica M. James, Nicholas G. Beard, and S. Alex Beard; 
great grandchild, Dayton Beard LeJeune; sister, Virginia Crowell Heckford; and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mt. Vernon Baptist 
Church, West Monroe.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Jayme Wamble, Janice 
Beard, Carla Cummings, and Glenwood Home Health Care for their care of Mrs. 
Helen.

Memorials may be made to American Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude 
Children's Hospital.
