Bennett, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Clarks Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in West Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mrs. Bennett was born on May 29, 1953 to W.L. Clark and Vernie Long Clark of West Monroe and departed this earth peacefully to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She spent the majority of her life in the Twin Cities, graduating from West Monroe High School in 1971 and NLU (ULM) in 1976 with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Olyce taught music in three high schools and twelve elementary schools in her thirty years of teaching. During those years she taught numerous private voice and piano lessons. Olyce was a talented singer and organized a gospel group "Sonshine" that performed for twenty years in numerous churches, concerts and mission trips. She loved doing programs at her schools and taking her choirs to sing as nursing homes, veteran's homes and programs and other venues. Eight grandchildren called her "Nonny" and she loved spending time with them. Olyce considered each one a blessing from God. She loved teaching them songs and games. "Nonny" was preceded in death by her parents, William Lawrence and Vernie Long Clark; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Annie Mae Bennett; and by her sisters, Joyce Clark, Frances Price, and Jean Price. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Danny Frantom Bennett; daughters, Alexia Bennet Bowden and husband, Nathan, Christi Bennett Jones, Melodi Bennett Merritt and husband, Kerry; son, Kyle Bennett; grandchildren, Mitch Merritt, Emily Bowden, Madi-K Merritt, Mark Bowden, Jude Jones, Kyah Bennett, Ava Mae Jones and Ruby Rae Jones; sisters, Faye Meredith and husband, Garland, Rhonda LaBorde and husband, Ronnie and Ollie Wink; brother, Raymond Clark and wife, Gwen; brothers-in-law, Dr. Walter A. Bennett, Jr. and wife, Marilyn and Maurice Price; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kyle Bennett, Kerry Merritt, Mitch Merritt, Nathan Bowden, Garland Meredith and Ronnie LaBorde. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
