Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe. Margie Cannon Bernard, the daughter of Ed and Mary Cannon, was born in Dermott, Arkansas on December 25, 1923. Margie moved to Monroe, LA, where she would meet the love of her life, Larkin Wesley Bernard, who was stationed at Selman Airfield as he served our great country during WWII. They raised three daughters, Karin, Pam and Shelly in Whittier, CA. Later, she returned to Monroe and began a successful career with Tidy Ties which expanded into multiple worldwide corporations with her at the helm of the imports and exports. After over 40 years of service, she retired at the age of 81 and always spoke about one day returning. While her career was a great accomplishment; her family was always the center of her life and her greatest joy. Margie had the rare gift of giving unconditional love to all that crossed her path. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was an incredible cook, a die-hard Saints fan (until they lost), had a great sense of humor, avid bargain hunter and a lover of her Clamato beer some evenings - that's our Nana. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Olds; brother, Emile Cannon. Survivors include her daughters, Shelly Perry and husband W.E.,Jr., and Karin Keene and husband Steve; grandchildren, Missy Fleming and friend Rickey Robertson, Michelle Lee and husband Jerry, Jolleen Dobbs Hernandez, Nikki Olds, Michael Olds, Shawn McGee, Wesley McGee, Kami Celano and Kevin Keene and wife Pam; great grandchildren, Celena, Gavin, Dominic, Zachary, Trevor, Ryan, Liam, Lucin, Halie, Weston, Phillip, Morgan, Sadie and Aiden; and one great-great grandchild, Phillip, Jr. Pallbearers will be Wes McGee, W.E. Perry, Jr., Steve Keene, Rickey Robertson, Phillip Gautreaux, Morgan Brown, Mikey Olds, Jerry Lee, Brian Underwood, Ed Cannon, Gavin Karty, Liam McGee and Adam Felix. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with a vigil wake at 6:00 P.M.
