Ray Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Grove Church of God Cemetery. Mr. Best was born February 13, 1932 in Kingsland, AR and passed away on September 2, 2009 in Ruston, LA. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Liberty Grove Church of God. Mr. Best was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening and music. Harold was known for being a very creative person, but most of all loved being with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pebble Best. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorene Best; children, Ricky Best and wife, Debra of Liberty, NC, Rhonda Finklea and husband Rex of West Monroe, LA, Mike Best and wife, Lisa of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Angela Best of Virginia Beach, VA, David Best and wife Lexie of Mebane, NC, Ashley Oldham and husband John, of Graham, NC, Petty Officer First Class Heath Finklea, USN, Ewa Beach, HI, Jamie Dewey and husband Chad of West Monroe, LA, Meagan Barnes and husband Caleb of Corona, CA; great-grandchildren, Colin Finklea and Carys Finklea both of Newport, RI; Hallie Dewey and Jake Dewey both of West Monroe, LA; brothers and sisters, Morris Best and wife, June of Royal, AR, Virginia Offutt and the late Joe Offutt of Fordyce, AR, and Teddy Best and wife Kay of Mt. Ida, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bob Harrell, Doyle Daniel, Dean Frost, Roger Paul Easterling, Gene Easterling, and J.D. Easterling. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Memorial may be made to Liberty Grove Church of God Building Fund.
