Jerry was born February 6, 1957 near Winston- Salem, NC. He was cremated under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mr. Biddle requested that no memorial service be held, asking loved ones and friends to simply remember the happy times together. Jorome graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1975, and attended North Carolina State University as an English major. That was followed by 10 years of proud service in the U.S. Army as a supply Sergeant in South Korea; Germany; Fort Ord, California; and Fort Bliss, Texas. Following his Army career, he worked as a plastics injection-molding machine operator making precision medical devices, as a house painter, and as a delivery driver for the City of El Paso, TX, before retiring in 2000 due to disability. Mr. Biddle enjoyed his retirement years grooming his yard, playing chess and online strategy games, walking with his dogs at Forsythe Park boat dock and Restoration Park, and building and re-building computers for his friends and himself. Mr. Biddle is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Jeffery Jasper; his mother Margaret L. Mitchell; step-father James Norvell Mitchell; and brothers Nathan Biddle and Marvin, James and Richard Mitchell. He is preceded in death by grandparents Katie and Alfred Coleman, and special friend Betty Jasper, with whom he shared a love of horticulture. Jorome will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, integrity, determination, and especially his attention to detail in any undertaking. Jorome Biddle will also be forever remembered as a man who always gave much more than he took, and who endeavored to leave the world a better place than he found it. Jorome would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Compassus, especially to Daphne, Jessica, and Demetria.
