KAROL YARBROUGH BIRCHFIELD

A funeral service for Karol Yarbrough Birchfield will be held at Osborn 
Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, at 11:00 a.m. 
Monday, March 10, 2014. Rabbi Jana De Benedetti of B'Nai Zion Temple will 
officiate. Interment will be at Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, 
Louisiana, at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Birchfield was born on December 22, 1934 in Monroe, Louisiana. She died 
at the age of 79 on March 7, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana, after a brief 
illness.

Mrs. Birchfield was a retired mental health counselor and published writer. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Yarbrough, and her 
son, Richard Rabb Parkerson.

Mrs. Birchfield is survived by her husband Clifford A. Birchfield; sons Gary 
Parkerson, Stuart Parkerson and his wife Melissa, and Carl Parkerson and his 
wife DeWanna; daughter Terri Parkerson; grandchildren Rachel Parkerson, 
Jessica Parkerson Grigsby and her husband Grant Grigsby, and Logan Parkerson; 
great-grandchildren Gabriella and Jensen Grigsby; step children Gary 
Birchfield and his wife Victoria Birchfield, Randy Birchfield and Donna 
Birchfield; and step grandchildren Bradley Birchfield, Justin Birchfield, 
Kevin Birchfield and Amy Fairchild.
