Scottie Gray and Rev. W. H. "Bucky" Curry officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from Noon until time of services. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Pine Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Foley, AL with interment to follow under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. Mrs. Black is preceded in death by her parents Robert Wesley Goodman and Lena Mae Cheshier Goodman and her first husband William Earl Chisholm. After a lengthy battle against cancer, Carolyn passed away surrounded by her loving family at her cherished lake home. A native of Memphis Tennessee, she lived her adult life in Louisiana and Alabama. Carolyn was a devout Christian whose faith and belief in God touched the lives of many. Known affectionately as "Nanny" by her grandchildren, Carolyn loved her time with her grand kids and family. She is survived by her husband, Charles A. "Buddy" Black of Delhi, LA; two children Luanne Chisholm Peterson (Troy) of Gulf Shores, AL and William Christopher Chisholm (Sarah) of Pittsburgh, PA and two grandchildren Abby Danielle Farmer Barrett (William) and Jordan Christopher Farmer. Carolyn is also survived by three step daughters, Debbie Wilbanks (Delbert), Sandy Black and Jamie Burnside (Gaylen); six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; a brother Rev. Jimmy Goodman of Delhi, LA; three sisters Katherine Pleasants of Delhi, LA, Lou Carson of Memphis, TN and Eva Payne of Alexandria, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Any planned memorials should be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
