Services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 3, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Lynn Malone officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time in the church parlor, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Paula was born in Monroe, LA to John William Perry and Mary Frances Parnell Perry. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA where she was a member Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She majored in Education and later received her Master's Degree in Family and Marriage Counseling at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Church. She was a member of St. Paul's Thursday Bible Study, Colonial Dames of America, Junior League of Monroe, The Book Club and The Bridge Club. She volunteered in many church and various organizations throughout the twin cities. Her sweet and loving kindness was felt by all who knew or ever met her. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, John William Perry and Mary Frances Parnell Perry and son, James Blackman. She is survived by her children: daughters, Carrie Blackman, Caroline Blackman Turner and Mary Winston Blackman; three grandchildren Millie and Ella Turner, and Forrest McKinney; brother, Harvey Parnell Perry and wife, Carolyn; sister, Martha Perry Amman and husband, Frederic; brother, John William Perry, Jr., and wife, Cyndy; and many nieces and nephews. Honoring Paula as Pallbearers will be her nephews.
