BERTHA ELIZABETH BOATNER

Jonesboro, LA

Funeral services for Bertha Elizabeth Boatner of Hodge, LA formerly of 
Bastrop, LA, will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2 P.M., at North 
Hodge Assembly of God Church in Hodge, LA. Rev Gene Cumpton and Rev. Geary 
Phillips will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories 
Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Edmonds Funeral Home 
in Jonesboro from 4-8 P.M.

Mrs. Boatner was born on July 29, 1920 and died on January 6, 2009. She was 88.

Mrs. Boatner was retired from the shipping department of International Paper 
Company in Bastrop, LA, and an active member of North Hodge Assembly of God 
Church in Hodge, LA.

Survivors include one daughter, Melba Cumpton and husband Gene of Jonesboro, 
LA, three grandchildren, Tim Cumpton and wife Tammy of Houston, TX., Keith 
Cumpton and wife Mandi of Quitman, LA., Angela Chapin and husband Allen of 
Alexandria, LA., six great-grandchildren, Hillary, Lyndsey, Whitney, Shelby 
and Kati Cumpton and Alex Chapin.

Mrs. Boatner was preceded in death by her mother and father, Myrtle Elizabeth 
and Homer LeRoy Boatner, two brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will include, Charles Nunn, Sammy Henderson, Daryl Hollis, Donnie 
Knox, Bill King and Johnny McMillan.
