CHARLIE BOIES

Charlie Boies, beloved father, grandfather, and husband, 74, of Franktown 
passed away May 7 after a brief illness.

Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, LA on July 
4th, at 6PM.

A Mangham, LA native, Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Reese 
Cuthbert and Annie Kline Boies, brothers William Reese Boies and James C. 
Boies. He is survived by his wife Christina (Tina) of the home, daughters Lea 
Myerly and Sara Carlson (Shawn), grandchildren Cameron and Courtney Carlson , 
all of Littleton; sister Mary Ellen Epinette of Dallas, TX; Step Brothers Don 
Adams of Ruston, LA and Doyle Adams of Mangham, LA, nieces Cheryl Carpenter 
(Bill), Glenda Epinette, Rachel Gandy (Jerry); and nephew Glen Boies (Lilia).

A long time geophysicist, Charlie worked for Exxon, where in the 1960's, he 
discovered Prudhoe Bay oil fields, and later, Tenneco Oil. He founded Front 
Range Exploration and sold it to NorPac in the early 1980's. After retirement 
from the oil business, he also owned and operated a private bus company. His 
post-retirement work as Kiowa High Indians athletic teams' bus driver brought 
him great joy. He also enjoyed serving as course marshall at Spring Valley Golf 
Club.

A Memorial Celebration of Charlie's Life was held at Christ's Episcopal Church 
in Castle Rock, CO on May 11, 2013.

As Charlie was a fervent patriot, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, 
donations to Independencefund.org which provides tools for mobility service to 
severely injured veterans or the woundedwarriorproject.org.
