WILLIAM "BILLY" R. BOLES, SR. Kilpatrick Funeral Homes Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. William "Billy" R. Boles, Sr., age 81, will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Officiating will be Dr. David Uth and Dr. Dennis Swanberg. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. William Russell "Billy" Boles, an adoring husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, left this life on Saturday, August 16, 2008, as he lived it, surrounded by his family and embraced by their love. Born in Rayville to humble beginnings, Billy was raised by Ruth and Vernon Boles to be the best he could be at everything he did. He excelled at academics, athletics, business and life. He attended Northeast on a basketball scholarship, served 18 months in the Navy, attended La Tech and earned his law degree from LSU. He served as a state senator, built a successful law practice, co-founded First Fidelity Mortgage Company, now Chase, and co-founded several banks including American Bank, now Regions. Billy received many awards attesting to his success, but he was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Furlow Boles, his four children and their spouses, George and Linda Boles Campbell, Walter and Diane Boles Kirtland, Scott and Janet Boles Crawford, and Christine and William Russell Boles, Jr. His 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren adored their "BeBe". They are Catherine Campbell Creed and her husband, Christian, Allyson Campbell Young and her husband, Lewis, George Mennon Campbell, Joseph Patrick Campbell, William Boles Kirtland, Mason Daniel Kirtland, Matthew Wesley Chambers, Catherine Holland Crawford, William Russell Boles, III, Christopher Evan Boles and Jonathan Joseph Reitzell Boles; 2 great grandchildren are Catherine Neal Creed and Christian Campbell Creed. Pallbearers will be his adult grandsons: Mennon Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Billy Kirtland, Mason Kirtland, Matthew Chambers, Christian Creed, Lewis Young and his long time employee and friend, Kenneth Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be his dear friends, Kent Anderson, Paul Aron, Jody Fail, Lovell Hayden, Johnny T. Johnson, Ted Jones, Dr. Ralph King, Alvin Lane, Mac McConathy, Jack Rivers, Chuck Ryan, Jerry Ryan, David Turrentine and O. D. Westbrook. Billy will be remembered for his abundant love of his family and friends and his dedication to his community, his schools and his sports. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed and we are honored to have shared in his life.
