A.J. Kimball and Rev. George Boothe officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Doretta was called home on January 5, 2014. She was born on July 8, 1923, in Wisner, LA to the late Henry Cooper and Alpha Roberts Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis "Son" Boothe; daughter Carmen Elaine Doles; brothers, Donnye Cooper and Travis Cooper and sisters, Sue Elaine Cooper, Estelle Cooper Boothe, and Maggie Cooper Roberts. Mrs. Boothe passed away at Plantation Oaks Nursing Home in Wisner, LA. She retired from the Catahoula Parish Library with 33 years of service. Following her retirement she continued to volunteer at the library. She was a devout Christian and a member of Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church. She was a youth leader and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. She loved her Lord and she loved people. She was well known and loved by everyone in her community. She was kind and helpful to everyone. She is survived by three sons: Leo Boothe and wife Kim of Dunbarton, LA; Shelby R. Boothe of King Salmon, Alaska; Ellis M. Boothe, Jr. and wife Marybeth of Jonesville, LA; and son in law, Pat Doles of Rosepine, LA.; 2 Sisters: Katie Cooper Crain of Winnsboro, LA and Nobie Coper Rowley of Wisner, LA.; 11 Grandchildren: Patrick Boothe of Washington, D.C.; Christopher Boothe of Vidalia, LA; Joseph Boothe of Arlington, VA; Barry Boothe and wife Michelle of Harrisonburg, LA Jincy Newman and husband David; James Doles of Rosepine, LA; Wiley and Ellisa Boothe of Jonesville, LA; Allie, Wyatt, and Lara Boothe of Dunbarton, LA; Joni McKenzie and husband Alan of Baton Rouge, LA.; 4 Great Grandchildren: Cade Newman of Hickam Air Force Base, HI; and Katherine Newman of Rosephine, LA; Ava and Addison McKenzie of Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Patrick Boothe, Chris Boothe, Joey Boothe, Barry Boothe, Wiley Boothe, Wyatt Boothe, and James Doles. Honorary Pall Bearers: Cade Newman, Richard Mayo, Raymond Roberts, Chester Cooper, Dennis and Dallas Crain, Dora Smith, DeLaine Self, Katie Gordon In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church or the Catahoula Parish Library or charity of your choice .
