Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Milton, Louisiana. Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Con Celebrant will be Reverend James Brady, JCL, Pastor of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Lector will be Brenda B.Verret and Eulogist is Eric C. Borne. Musical Selections will be rendered by the St. Pius X Church Choir. Survivors include his wife, Renee-Claire Mayer Borne; one daughter, Claire Walker and her husband, Joey Walker; two sons, Eric C. Borne and his fiance', Lacie Delcambre and Kevin M. Borne and his fiance', Charmaine Burg; one granddaughter, Elise Walker; his parents, Edward M. Borne, Jr. and Marilyn Borne and one sister, Brenda B. Verret. Born on April 14, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Keith was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a 1972 graduate of Cathedral High School and did his undergraduate work at USL. He was a graduate of LSU Law School in 1976 and married the love of his life, Renee-Claire Mayer on December 18, 1976. Keith was a practicing attorney who, during his 35 year career, practiced law with Allen & Gooch; Fontenot and Hurlburt; and Onebane, Donohoe. He then formed Borne & Wilkes, LLC in May 1994. In 2008, he opened The Borne Quilter with his wife, where he loved spending his Saturdays working and entertaining his quilting fan club. Keith was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and choir. He loved watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his family. In the end, he was right... he will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be Eric C. Borne, Kevin M. Borne, Joey Walker, Patrick Lewis, John Wilkes, Richard Soileau and Dave Hurlburt. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
