She died on October 16, 2014, as the result of an automobile accident. She went to elementary school in West Monroe and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. She became a member of the U.S. Air Force. After serving 3½ years, (Korean Conflict) she entered SLI (Lafayette). She graduated from SLI in May 1956. She married Jerry Boudreaux the following week and they have been married for 58 years. Her education career began in St. John Parish. They then moved to California where she taught one year before returning to Louisiana. Her career of 39 years began in 1959 in East Baton Rouge Parish where she taught grades K,1,3. She was promoted to principal and served in that capacity for 23 years. Her career as an educator was a very dear part of her life. She was active in her church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary. She was active in professional organizations during her teaching career. She served as state representative of LA Association of Principals for 4 years. During that tenure, she served on the nominating committee for the National Principals Association. She was actively involved in many of Jerry's projects, always behind the scenes. She loved to garden and became a lover of art lessons. She painted many pictures that family and friends enjoy. Her children and grandchildren were precious to her. She is survived by her husband, their children, Pookie Boudreaux and husband, Bill Screws; Brent Boudreaux and wife, Cheryl; Beetle Fisher and husband, Vic; Robyn Amrhein and husband, David and Boosey Boudreaux and wife, Kelly. Their 10 grandchildren, Christy and husband, Ron, Brad, Jessica, Brian and wife, Julie, Jeannie and husband, Mark, Dustin and wife, Laura Kate, Blake, Zachary, Alex and Emily. 12 great grandchildren, Anna Kate, Allie Grace, Andie Lynne, Taylor, Brooke, Collin, Madlyn, Dylan, Caden, Lalia, Chase, and Jackson. Brother in law and sister in law, Calvin and Ann Bourdeaux and sisters in law, Clara Mae Daigle and Ruth Boudreaux. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Elra Brady, siblings, Norma Roberts, Bill Brady and Bert Brady. Father in law and mother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Boudreaux and brothers in law, Irving Boudreaux and Manuel Daigle. Pallbearers will be her sons in law and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Elementary Principals. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Sunday, October 19, 2014, from 4 pm until 8 pm and continues on Monday, October 20, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary from 9 am until Eulogy at 10:15 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am conducted by Fr. M. Jeffery Bayhi. Burial will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
