ROY WAYNE BOWEN

Funeral services for Roy Wayne Bowen, 72, will be held at 10:00am Saturday, 
February 14, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Vernon Nelson 
officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery near Farmerville under the 
direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. Bowen, a retiree of Arkla Gas and the State of Louisiana Forestry Dept. 
passed away February 11, 2015. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of 
Latter Day Saints, loved the outdoors, animals, and enjoyed working. He would 
do anything for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Thaxton & Maggie Bowen and 2 sisters: 
Glenda Kyle and Mary Maude Bowen.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Darthorie Lynn Bowen of 
Farmerville; 1 son: Stephen Wayne Bowen & wife, Evelyn of Salem, UT; 2 
daughters: Scarlett Lynn Rogers & husband, James of Chatham, LA and Ellen 
Melessa Hammond & husband, Terry of Pleasant Grove, UT; 1 brother: Clark Venoy 
Bowen & wife, Mary of Bastrop, LA; 4 sisters: Betty Jean Gathright of Huttig, 
AR, Otto Mashaw & husband, Bobby Jean of Farmerville, Tiny Forbes of Huttig, AR 
and Cheri Lynn McIntosh & husband, Johnny of Farmerville; 15 grandchildren; 10 
great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Rogers, Adam Rogers, Roy Richards, Mason Rogers, 
Zachary Bowen, and Sam Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Richards and 
Jacob Chandler.

Visitation is 5:00-8:00pm Friday at Farrar Funeral Home.
