SHERRY HAMILTON BOYD

Downsville, La. - Services for Mrs. Sherry Hamilton Boyd of Downsville, La. 
will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at First Baptist 
Church of Farmerville with Rev. Kurt Auger officiating and Ronnie Parks as 
song director. Interment will be at the Downsville Cemetery under the 
direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mrs. Boyd was born on August 14, 1960, and passed away on September 28, 
2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Jackson Hamilton, Jr. 
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmerville. She graduated 
from Louisiana Tech University. She taught school in Union Parish for 21 
years, the majority of which was spent at her beloved Downsville High 
School. After leaving Union Parish, she took a job in Lincoln Parish as a 
coordinator and eventually became the Elementary Supervisor of Lincoln 
Parish Schools. Her greatest joy was in helping others, whether it be her 
family, friends, students, teachers or co-workers.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Danny Boyd; son, Dan Boyd and 
friend Lauren Turner; mother, Ann Hamilton; sister, Susan Hamilton White and 
husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Marty Boyd and wife, Sissy; sister-in-law, 
Robbie Boyd; nieces, Stacie White, Beth Zachry and husband, Erik, Ginger 
Barkley and husband, Brad; nephew, Patrick White; great nieces, Alyssa and 
Aubrey Zachry and Abbie and Faith Barkley. And a host of other family and 
friends.

Pallbearers will be Don McClanahan, Donnie Gates, Jay Yelton, John Johnson, 
Greg Kirk and Ricky Edmiston.

Honorary Pallbearers will be H.P. Roberts, Steve Richardson, Betty 
Tettleton, Corky Crane, Women of Adult 2 Sunday School Class, Paula Pardue, 
Mary Null, Lisa Mangum, and all of her dearly loved former students and co-
workers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Friday, September 
29, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.
