CULLYNE ROY SCOTT BRADY

In Memoriam of Our Mom:

With profound love and respect, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, 
Cullyne Roy Scott Brady, who peacefully left us on July 29, 2024, at the age of 
84.

Cullyne was born on August 10, 1939, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to William 
Cullen Scott and Linnie Roy Simms Scott. She was known for her kindness, 
integrity, hard work, and capacity for love.

Cullyne was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love and support formed the 
foundation of her family. She ensured her family felt unconditionally loved and 
cared for, attending every moment, big or small, with unwavering support. To her 
friends and other family members, she was a pillar of strength, always there 
with her kindness and care, touching the lives of everyone around her.

In addition, Cullyne was a dedicated school teacher in Louisiana for 33 years. 
Her passion for education and commitment to her students made a lasting impact. 
Her enthusiasm for teaching, coupled with her dedication, shaped the lives of 
countless students and left a legacy that will be remembered fondly by all who 
had the privilege of learning from her. She had a remarkable ability to foster 
confidence, inspire curiosity, and create a supportive classroom environment. 
Her love for her students was evident in every lesson she taught and every life 
she touched.

Cullyne was preceded in death by her son, Roderick "Rod" Edward Brady. She is 
survived by her daughters, Charlane René Brady and Cecelia Brady Gonzalez; her 
son-in-law, Joe Gonzalez; her grandchildren, Gabriella Cullyne Gonzalez and 
Joseph Gonzalez; Joseph's wife, Sophia Gonzalez; her great-grandchildren, Max 
Gonzalez and Gwen Gonzalez; her brother, William Clint Scott; and her sister-in-
law, Vernaughn Scott.

In accordance with Cullyne’s wishes, there will be no public service. She will 
be laid to rest beside her son, Rod, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, 
Louisiana. Our Mom’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to 
inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly suggest donations to the Rod Brady Campus of the 
Central Louisiana Technical Community College to honor her lifelong commitment 
to education. Contributions can be sent to the LaSalle Parish Scholars Fund: 
CLTCC Rod Brady Campus, PO Box 775, Jena, LA 71342.
