Danny Baskin officiating the services. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 PM until time for the service. Don was born January 5, 1932, in Baytown TX and died peacefully on January 6, 2013, at his home near Dubach, surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness and complications from Alzheimer' s disease. He was a loving son, father, husband, brother, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. Don was very proud of his Czech heritage, his mother's parents having immigrated to the United States in 1898 through Ellis Island. He grew up in Baytown TX, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School. He attended Lee College in Baytown and the University of Texas in Austin, and subsequently graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1963 with a degree in Accounting. He worked for over 30 years in public accounting in Houston TX. Don had a great work ethic and always gave his best to the clients and organizations with which he worked. He was a U. S Army veteran. Following their retirement in 1996, he and his wife, Mary Jon, returned to Louisiana, her home state, to enjoy retirement in Lincoln Parish among a large extended family and friends. Don was a member of Salem United Methodist Church near Dubach. He also maintained his 50- year + membership as a Master Mason in Goose Creek Lodge No. 1192 of Baytown TX and the Arabia Shriners of Houston TX. He was a member of the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association. He enjoyed sports, particularly Louisiana Tech football, and professional football and baseball and was a fan of the teams both in Houston and Dallas. Don was predeceased by his father and mother Martin E. and Mary Sladek Bramlett, sister Bonnie Donnelly and husband Buddy, and nephews Trey and Kip Lacy and Kelly Neaville. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jon Jefcoat Bramlett, his daughter Dr. Helen Marie Bramlett and husband Dr. W. Dalton Dietrich, III of Miami FL; step-granddaughters Stephanie Drinkuth and husband Kyle of Wilmington NC and Jessica Dietrich of Miami FL; sister Janie Hooks and husband Lamoine of Thicket TX; niece Connie Donnelly Nesbett and husband Seaborn of Tyler TX; nephew Kenneth Donnelly and wife Judy of Baytown TX; nephew Randy Hooks and wife Kelly of Gilbert AZ; niece Amy Kobrick and husband Robert of Coeur d'Alene ID; sister-in-law Mellie Neaville and husband Glen of Dubach; brother-in-law Bobby Jefcoat and wife Dianne of Dubach; niece Allison Lofstrom and husband Mike of Ruston; nephew Cass Jefcoat and wife Casie of Prairieville LA; nephew Mitch Jefcoat and wife Megan of Monroe ; niece Angela Lacy of Ruston; nephews Philip Neaville and wife Marilyn and Bruce Neaville of Ruston; and several great-nieces and nephews. The family expresses deepest appreciation to Dr. Ed Mariano, Dr. Tommy Smith and Dr. Jim Finley, and to the staffs of Hospice of the Caring Hearts, Best Home Health, Northern Louisiana Medical Center and Willow Ridge Nursing Home. Our special gratitude and appreciation go to caregivers Irene Hendrix and Jim Carodine. Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Donnelly, Seaborn Nesbett, Cass Jefcoat, Mitch Jefcoat, Lewis Lacy and Mike Lofstrom. Honorary pallbearers will be: Glen Neaville, Nicona Lacy, Philip Neaville, Bruce Neaville, Mike Colvin and Eddie Colvin.
