Stan Brantley and Hugh Gower officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Mrs. Brantley died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a life-long resident of Farmerville, LA, where she served the community for 29 years as a social worker, specializing in child protective services. Having earned her bachelor's degree in Biology from Northeast Louisiana University, Mrs. Brantley also served as a teacher at Linville High School and Farmerville High School. Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her parents Elgin and Mary Dean of Farmerville. Survivors include her husband of 54 years Joe A. Brantley of Farmerville; son Steve Brantley and wife Lora of Farmerville; daughter Teresa B. Reagan and fiancée Robert Poole of West Monroe; daughter Leesa B. Taylor and husband Dent of Farmerville; daughter Loree B. Towns and husband David of West Monroe; son Kendel Brantley of Bossier; and daughter Jennifer B. Hancock and husband Toby of West Monroe. Also included among survivors are her precious grand children Carey Brantley (Nancy) of Farmerville; Heather Weaver (Kent) of Rocky Branch; Wade Brantley of Farmerville; Steve Reagan of Valdosta, GA; Emily Morris of West Monroe; Becky Thompson (Lane) of Greenwood, MS; Rhiannon & Josh Taylor of Farmerville; Austin & Ethan Towns of West Monroe; Sarah & Drew Brantley of Bossier; and Abigail & Blake Hancock of West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Brantley was also blessed with Six great grand children: Brooklyn, Bridget, Emma, Kayla, Logan, and Will. Her special dog & companion Mackenzie will also greatly miss Momma's sweet smile and tasty scraps! Mrs. Brantley is also survived by a sister Faith Brantley of Farmerville and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brantley had a lot of special interests, but the closest to her heart were her ability to cook large meals for her family and spending time with her precious grandbabies. She also enjoyed gardening and attending University of Louisiana at Monroe football games, where she and Daddy were active in their support of the university. Mrs. Brantley was a member of the Farmerville Church of Christ for many years and most recently, a member of the Wards Chapel Church of Christ in Farmerville, LA. The family would like to express a special thanks to Momma's caregivers Andrea (Skeeter), Norma, Kim, Marla, and Zena with Home Assistance Services and Nicole and Marlon of Hospice Care of Louisiana. The love and care you provided to our mom was overwhelming, and we as a family will always remember your compassion and concern.
