RAGAN BREWSTER Owens Memorial Chapel Ruston,LA Funeral services for Mr. Ragan Brewster, age 76 of Dubach will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Rock Corner Baptist Church in Dubach, LA. with Bro. Charles Harlon officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rock Corner Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Brewster was born February 5, 1932 in Vienna, LA. to George Leonard and Alma Duke Brewster. He died October 7, 2008 in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Brewster was a life long member of Rock Corner Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for 56 years. A graduate of Louisiana Tech with a degree in entomologist; he also attended NLU. Mr. Brewster was employed at Forest Chemical Co. in 1959 until his retirement in 1988. He served our country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He was past President of the Cattleman?s Association and past Vice-President of Lincoln Parish Farm Bureau. Mr. Brewster was a cattleman, avid gardener and a dog lover who loved hunting, fishing, bird watching and monitoring the stock market. But most of all, he was totally devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his family. Mr. Brewster is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Frasier Brewster; his children: Melinda and Doug Boyd, Loren and Walter Garner, and Jeff and Stacie Brewster; grandchildren: Angie Brewster; Mandy and Jeremy Spradlin, Jansen Boyd; Justin and Adrianne Garner and Courtney Houston; great -grandchildren: Mabry Schoeffler; Alyssa Spradlin, Jake Spradlin and Emily Spradlin; aunts: Myrtis Franklin and Wista Duke; sister and brother-in-law: Pam and Jack Farmer; brother and sister-in-law: Gene and Gloria Brewster; sister-in-law: Thelma Brewster; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Lorie and Clovis Tate; brother-in-law: Jim and Imogene Frasier; and best friend, his border collie, Al. Nieces and nephews: Mike Mayzel, Sissy Bennett, Stacie Evers, Shannon Brown, Lori Spears, Lisa Jennings, Cindy Plunkett and Jim Frasier, Jr. Mr. Brewster was preceded in death by his parents: G.L. and Alma Brewster; grandson: Kyle Garner; nephew: Craig Tate; In-laws: Elton and Pearlie Frasier; brother: Kenneth Brewster; and sister: Sally Jo Brewster. Pallbearers will be Zeberdee Ginn, Mike Hancock, Ricky Caldwell, John Driskill, Joe Brown, Mike Mayzel, Jim Frasier, Jr. and Tony Gullett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Frasier, Sr., Bevon Martin and John Collins.
