BRINGOL Funeral services for Clovis C. "Dick" Bringol, 85 of Wisner, LA will be held at Crockett Point Baptist Church on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Marion Collier and Rev. Benton Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial. Clovis Bringol was born in Avoyelles Parish, in the town of Echo, on October 31, 1926 and went to be with our Lord on January 11, 2012. He is the last surviving child of Issac Nicholas Bringol and Mary Guillot Bringol. Mr. Bringol graduated from Fort Necessity High School. He served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II for 4 years and was honorably discharged. He graduated from Southern Louisiana Institute, now known as Univiersity of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. Mr. Bringol settled in Franklin Parish and was a dairyman, farmer, cattleman and businessman. He was a lifetime member of the Louisiana Cattlemen's Association, serving as President during some of that time. He was a founding member of Progressive Bank in 1975 in Winnsboro, where he served as a board member until 2010. He was a founding member of Franklin Academy in 1970 in Winnsboro and served on the board there for many years. He was a co-owner and board member of Franklin Cotton Warehouse and South Franklin Gin. He also served as a board member for Federal Land Bank. Mr. Bringol had many outdoor interests. He was an avid hunter of deer, turkey, and duck in his earlier years, but developed a love of quail hunting in Coleman County in west Texas where he enjoyed 45 years of hunting with many close friends and family members. Mr. Bringol enjoyed being involved with his community and coached boy's baseball for many years in Wisner. He was an active member of Fort Necessity Baptist Church.Mr bringol was preceded in death by his mother and father,5 Brothers and 5 Sisters, and a grandson-Bryant Fortenberry. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amaryllis Beal Bringol of Wisner, LA; children: Karen A. Bringol of Richmond, TX, James Keith Bringol of Wisner, LA, Patricia Flowers and husband John of Crowville, LA, and Holly Watson of Wisner, LA; Grandchildren-Lacy Blackmon and husband Jay of Pineville, LA, Amy Potts and husband Doug of Houston, TX, Tyler Fortenberry of Crowville, LA, Millie Bringol of Wisner, LA, Clay Zdobylak of Houston, TX, Ethan Flowers of Crowville, LA, Fallon and Cade Watson of Wisner, LA Great-Grandchildren-Grace and Brian Keith Blackmon of Pineville, LA and Ashton Fortenberry of Crowville, LA;Caretaker and Friend-Jerry Higgs; Faithful,constant companion Gizmo, and a host of close Friends.The Pallbearers will be Billy Grimes, George Gowan, James McLemore, Joe Tarver, Marlin Valentine, Noble Ellington, Sherman Shaw, Tab Singer.he Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Shaw, Dale Mason, John Moroni, Moose McGraw, Ray Bryan, Sewell Morgan, Stewart Gentry, Wayne Nolan, and President George Cummings III and all officers of Progressive Bank.
