She was born July 15, 1927, in Sicily Island, Louisiana, the daughter of William and Ayleen York. AJ graduated from Ouachita High School and attended Northeast Louisiana Junior College where she was a member of the Warbonnets Dance Line. She was married to Walter (Gabby) Johnson of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on January 18, 1947 in Fairbanks, Louisiana. He preceded her in death January, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her brother Gerald (Jerry) York of Fairbanks, La. and her sister Edna Phillips Williams of West Monroe, La. AJ was a mother and homemaker; she obtained her license as a hairdresser and opened up her own shop in 1958 in Mercer, Pennsylvania. AJ then obtained her realtor license and became a realtor after the family moved to Houston, Texas in 1967. AJ loved to host and entertain with her family and friends. She is survived by her four children and spouses; Walter (Gabby) Johnson and Robin of Palestine, Texas; Carl Johnson and Jill of Collierville, Tennessee; Pamela Misialek and Wayne of Keller, Texas; Deborah D'Aguiar and Ronnie of Fairbanks, Louisiana. 8 Grandchildren: Sonia, Billy, Justin, Ryan, Carter, Cooper, Sophie Anna, Gabrielle; 4 Great Grandchildren: James Leath, Ashley, Tyler, Vanessa; 1 Great Great Grandchild: Taygen; Sister-in-law Carolyn Boyd York of Fairbanks, La.; Brother-in-law Tom Johnson and Suzie of Greensboro, North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and very dear friends. There will be a private Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to: Shriners Hospital For Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, La. 71103.
