George R. Cunningham officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe, LA. Mrs. Brooks passed away Thursday, February 02, 2012, at Avalon Place. The family would like to give special thanks to Vivian Hollis, Jean Sampson and Kim Ross for the love and care they gave their mother during her lengthy illness. Jenny loved spending time in the outdoors, fishing and gardening with her husband. Together they grew a wide variety of flowers, and fed their family with the fruits and vegetables from their garden and the livestock they raised. She also loved to gather pecans with her children from their many pecan trees. In her later years, she especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Morgan R. Brooks and her sisters and brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Jean Ivy, Jo Ann Borden, and Peggy Joyce Brooks; brother, John C. Colvin (Margie); grandchildren, Tony Ivy (Tami), Casey Ivy (Rebekah), Kelly Reeves (Scott), Marti Berry (Roger), Mandi Rudolph (George), and Misti Cunningham (Russ); great-grandchildren, Evans Knight, Callie Ivy, Morgan and Hayden Anthony, Logan and Claire Reeves, Zachary and Trevor Buster, Cameron and Connor Keith Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00PM, Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
