Mrs. Allie Glynne Ingram Brooks was born on December 19, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 9, 2012. She was at home surrounded by her loved ones. Glynne, the devoted wife of the late Reverend Paul E. Brooks, was a caring and loving mother to her two daughters, Paula Brooks Sommer and Jan Brooks Frost. Her drive to help others was carried out in her thirty plus year career as a dedicated Social Worker at the Richland Parish Welfare Office, where she moved from assisting others to supervisor, to Richland Parish Administrator. Outside of work, her love for others was demonstrated through her ministering to church families alongside her husband for 57 years as a pastor's wife. She enjoyed being the Minister of Music at various churches, where he served as a minister. Glynne's secret ambition was to become a doctor. After graduation from Louisiana Tech University, she was accepted into medical school, but never attended, choosing instead to marry her "true love". She would fulfill her dream of caring for people during their health challenges by staying with friends and relatives during illness and taking care of them when they returned home from the hospital after surgery.
