Brown, 85, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Paschal's Catholic Church. Father David Richter will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Paschal's Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Diane Brown was born April 21, 1927 in Derry, PA and passed away February 19, 2013 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Camillo and Ellen Sylvester, and all of her siblings, Vig, Arthur, Ardwin, Jean, Louise, Mary and Edna. She is survived by her four children, Susan Foreman, Babs Oakley, Nancy Parsons- Hatfield, Douglas Schmitt, their spouses, Larry Foreman, Brian Hatfield and Jan Schmitt, her seven grandkids, Jason Placke, Valerie Placke, Camille Parsons, Ben Parsons, Alexandria Schmitt, Ethan Schmitt and Emma Kate Schmitt, and her two great grandkids Marley McClanahan and Finn Placke. Diane was highly educated, receiving a B.S. in Home Economics from Seton Hill College 1949 and an M.S. in Chemistry from the State University of Iowa 1951 and a B.A. in Elementary Education from St. Mary's Dominican College 1978. She was a great teacher beginning with teaching college dietetics, teaching piano, opening and operating her own private K thru 6th grade school and finally retiring from the LA State Public Education System. She was an accomplished pianist, bowler, gardener, artist and seamstress. Pallbearers will be 122nd ASOS LA Air National Guardsmen. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
