Terry Mims officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Burroughs Garden of Memories, east of Columbia. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 14, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Riser Funeral Home located at 7131 U S Highway165, Columbia. John Randolph Brown, Sr. was born on September 27, 1941 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents Virgil Terry Brown and Helen Chilton Brown. John served in the United States Military when he was drafted into the United States Army, where he completed Signal School and was sent to France for eighteen months. After service he began his career with the City of Monroe and he retired as Master Electrician after thirty-six years of service. When he retired he was Chief Electrician and Superintendant of Construction. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Monroe, and worked tirelessly with the Civitan Club every year at the Ark LA Miss Fair keeping everything powered up and operating correctly. Johnny always loved to be given the opportunity to help those around him. Truly he lived his life as a Good Samaritan. The love of his life,his beloved wife Estelle Faulk Brown passed away earlier this year and now they are together again in their heavenly home. He was also preceded in death by his parents, by his brother Bubbie Brown, and by his sisters: Betty Jean Brown and Bill Oliveaux. Left to cherish his memory: his daughter and son in law: Kim and Steve Bryan of Monroe, his son and daughter in law: John Randolph Brown, Jr. and wife Kathey of Gun Barrell City, Texas; his two sisters: Mrs. Maudine Douglas of Monroe and Francis Daggett of California; his brother: Jimmy "Pibbie" Brown also of California; his grandchildren: James Whittington, Michael Brown, Nancy Whittington, and Kristen Kalanquin; and his three great-grandchildren: Lexton Kalanquin, Briana Kalanquin, and Lennon Whittington. Pallbearers include: Charles Duff, Michael Duff, Nathan Duff, Tommy Duff, Richard Oliveaux, Wade Dickerson, Billy Wayne Moseley, and Jimmie Posey.
